this upcoming friday is side a of the bfa mixtape show and i happen to be apart of the a-siders. so friday night at the center for the visual art, get some free food and feel claustrophobic and then maybe come back on saturday to actually see the work. i will be in the back….alone…great american myths.

for this weeks installment I combined rebecca’s matrixthru patch with candice’s scissor fuck patch and made a new patch which grab a still every time a random note is played and populates it in a broken grid. it would be interesting if the same process could manipulate the placement of that part of the matrix or create a new broken grid when a bang is recieved….perhaps next week.

here is a new photography blog I am starting which relates to martha rosler’s work in the bowery during the 1970′s. it will be updated daily so put it on your links and enjoy.

here is a patch I have been playing with which is a modification of the xfade patch rebecca showed us in class. this one incorporates an object called jit.op which (if you steal the help file) has a lot of cool functionality like playback rate, blend, etc. the combination of the two seems pretty interesting albeit pretty cpu heavy (working at 6-9 fps).

some friends of mine coordinated a inter-institutions show of colorado digital art that sounds like its going to be a lot of fun. it includes artists from all over the state and is happening this wednesday through friday and consists of a number of very talented artists and one really boring, overly, self involved artist; but if you can stomach/avoid/disregard his work than seeing the rest of the show should be really great. it is taking place at a space called object + thought and was curated by Rori Knudtson and Caitlin Green. definately worth seeing; i think.
